Memorandum of Understanding
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the MHRA, NRES and GTAC was issued on 20 October 2006 and is subject to be revised to reflect the current changes. One such change includes the establishment of an appointing authority for Phase 1 ethics committees, AAPEC.
The AAPEC have now joined this Collaboration Group and have been invited to review and suggest where changes are required in an updated version to reflect the new relationships between the organisations and the procedures adopted by Independent (non-NHS) Ethics Committees (IEC).
